Mac Viva Glam Nicki Minaj Lipstick

Hello lovelies,

I did a post a few weeks ago about the announcement that Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin would be the new faces of MAC's Viva Glam here.
I've been so excited for this to release, and I received an email saying I could buy it early because I had signed up for the waiting list.
Well today, it finally arrived on my doormat, and I sure am excited!!
This is my first MAC lipstick, and me being such a fan of Nicki Minaj it just fits perfect. The packaging is cute, and I love the way they've done the person's signature over normal packaging.
The lipstick itself is a bright creamy pink colour. I think you could easily wear it every day or just glam it up for a night time look.
I'm really looking forward to wearing this and playing around with different coloured looks.

I have 2 Nicki Minaj inspired looks coming up very soon, so keep your eyes peeled!
Have you got something from the Viva Glam range?

Tutorial: Green Eye

Hi everyone,
I've been wanting to do this look for a while now, and now I'm finally get down to it - Yay!

Apply MAC Paint Pot in Painterly to the lid.
I'm really loving this as a base at the moment, and I'm using it a lot in my everyday make up.
Apply the light green from BeautyUK 6 palette into the lid with a MAC 217.
Taking a MAC 266, apply Urban Decay Graffiti to the upper lashline, pushing it up.
Using an ELF Crease brush, apply the neon green from the Sleek Acid palette to create a cut crease.
With the same brush, apply Graffiti to the outer corner and onto the bottom lid.
Apply the white from the Sleek palette under the eyebrows as highlight, and also in the inner corner to make the green a little lighter.
Apply a black gel liner lightly to the top lash, pencil to the waterline and Avon SuperShock mascara to the lashes.
Apply some dramatic eyelashes, and then mascara to marry them together.

FACE:
Dream Nude Airfoam - 010 IVORY
Maybelline SuperStay 24H Concealer - Light/beige 2
MAC Studio Fix Powder- NW20
Urban Decay Blush - Fetish
LIPS:
Helen E Gloss - Strawberry Soda

Review: Maybelline Dream Nude Airfoam

Hi everyone,

Sorry for the last of posts this last week, I have been so busy with work.
Today I've decided to bring to you a review of something I've been using on and off since it's release.
I got the Maybelline Dream Nude  from Superdrug a few weeks ago and thought I'd share my thoughts on it, with you.
I wasn't sure what to expect with this product, with it being a foam would it be a new break through product or something I'd think "Yeah, great" and never use again?
It is described as an "Air-infused foundation nude perfect finish" and I got it in 010 Ivory, which I imagine would suit my skintone (I usually always get ivory/beige)

So onto the product inside.
On opening the bottle, you need to give it a good shake to mix together the ingredients. It sounds just like a spray paint can, and this made me quite excited (Sad, I know!)
The head is a nice shape, and a good size to fit your finger.

When you press it down, a mousse like product comes out, it's strange. Quite wet and there's a bit of product to work with. It smells just like sunscreen so I had a feeling of happy holidays.
When you move the product though, it seems like start going into a watery constancy meaning that you have to work fast to actually apply it to your face.

I decided to use my E.L.F Stippling brush to apply, simply because I like using it.
I put the product on my hand, dipped in my brush and then onto the face it went.
The foundation quickly turning into a very wet liquid when I put my brush into it, which was a disappointment.
I think the coverage is good, and you can apply more product to build this. The smell is lovely (sunscreen) and you only need to use a small ball to cover your face. When on the face, it isn't sticky or tacky and it doesn't feel like you have a heavy foundation on.

Overall, I like this product. I think it's cost effective (£6.99 in Superdrug) because of the small amount of product you need to use. I certainly think this will be great in the summer when you only want something light on so you don't feel like your makeup is sliding from your face.

Have you tried Dream Nude Airfoam? What did you think?

Tutorial: Red Dead Redemption

To start this look off I applyed UD Primer in Eden and NYX Pencil in Milk all over the lid.
Apply UD Shag all over the lid.
Take Sleek sunset and apply the Fourth (second on the bottom) colour to the outer corner, inner corner and bottom lid, making a wing.
Make sure you leave a gab in the middle of the top lid.
Apply more Shag just over the outer and inner corner to brighten the edges up a bit.

Then apply Illamasqua Berber to the middle of the lid. Remember to just pat the colour on to make sure you get maximum colour and glitter!
Apply eyeliner to the top and bottom lids and mascara.

To finish, apply UD Virgin under the brows as highlight.

Face:
Helen E Photo Finish foundation
Mac Studio Fix powder
Mac Mocha on the cheeks.
Lips: Helen E Strawberry Soda

Hope you enjoyed!

Helen É Cosmetics

Hi everyone,

When I was in the Trafford Centre on Thursday I called into Debenhems and had a look around the beauty counters. While there I heard an announcement that Helen E were having an offer: £58 of product for £10 - What a bargain! So off I raced to find this counter!
I'd never heard of Helen E before so was interested in the kind of products they sold.

On getting to the counter, everything was very awkward. There was a woman pushing the 2 other ladies working their to make sure everyone had product on their hand to test and it all seemed a little strange.
I asked what the offer was about, and didn't really understand. I basically got the jist that you buy the foundation for £10 and get 3 free gifts (a mascara, an eyeliner and a lipgloss).
I didn't think this was too bad. I'm up for trying anything new when it comes to foundation so off I went to the till.

Getting home, I was excited to see what the products were like!
I got a catalogue in the bag which I had a quick flick through.

The foundation is the Helen E Photo Finish - It claims that it clones to the tone of your skin to create a perfect complexion. I'm still waiting to try this out so we'll see.
This retails normally at £12.50 - I got it for £10.

Then in the bag I got the Colour Magnification Mascara in Violet.
This is a purple mascara with brow and lash gel. I'm not really sure I'll ever use a purple mascara (seems very 80's to me) and I'll use the brow gel when they get a little unruley.
This retails at £9.99

I also got an Eyeliner Pencil in Purple.
This is a double ended pencil, with a smudger on one end.
I will probably end up using this because I like a purple eyeliner.
This retails at £7.99

Last in the bag, I got a Glamour Colour Gloss in Strawberry Soda - Shade 11.
In my honest opinion, I think this is a dupe of Nars Orgasm lipgloss! It's a gorgeous pinky colour with bit of gold. I love it! So I was really pleased with this.
It retails at £9.99
This to me seems expensive! When you think that MAC sell their lip products for £16.50 and NARS for £17.50 it makes you think.

Now I'm not a mathematical genius but on working out these prices, they only come to £40.47.
I feel a little ripped off!! The offer stated that it was £58 worth of products for £10...
Flicking through the leaflets in the bag, I noticed I got a £10 Voucher for when you spend £25 or more on the website...
So, does this some in with the offer? If so, that makes it £50.47 worth. Where is the missing £7.58?
Seems to me like I've been ripped off...
I feel annoyed that they've advertised their products incorrectly. It should have been £50 of product for £10 - still a huge £40 saving!

Never mind, hopefully I'll get some use out of the products I got (I know I will with the lipgloss!)
Have you ever used Helen E before?
(Please Note: These products I bought with my own money. The information I have said here are from my own personal research into the company and through looking at their catalogue)
Reviews on the products will be coming soon!

Alice In Wonderland Cosmetics

Hi all,

So I said in a previous post that I love Alice in Wonderland. It is my favourite story ever, and I especially love the Disney version and the new Tim Burton one!

So I was going through the internet yesterday, and came on their Alice in Wonderland inspired cosmetics - I'm pretty sure they're now old, and I'm jumping on the news too late (they're also limited edition so no longer sold)

Urban Decay did a palette when the Tim Burton film was being made and released:

It doesn't half make me sad to know I've missed out on such a gem - have I been living under a rock? I adore the "Alice" colour, I think that would look beautiful applied to the lid alone.

I also found out that Paul & Joe had released their very own Alice inspired cosmetics. Again these are/were limited edition and they don't sell anywhere!

I think that these are stunning. The packaging is what draws me in and I love the colours they've used. I'm not a huge fan of pastels but when used well they're amazing.

Where you lucky and managed to get your hands on their products?
I'm really jealous if you did!

Sunday Ramblings: Home

Hi everyone,

I feel like I haven't done a blog post in ages. I've been all over the place this week with university work and just having some time to myself.
It was Valentine's Day on Tuesday, you either love it or you hate it, I personally think it's a load of poop! But I was surprised with a lovely eyeshadow from Nars and a Mac Paintpot which I was extremely pleased with! I went for a meal on Thursday to the Exchange Bar and Grill in the Trafford Centre and that was lovely - the food is always great from there!

Thursday night I had a few friends round for drinks, we ended up playing a drinking game and everyone got a little too drunk. We then decided to venture into town for a dance and drinks so that was fun, although because it had been raining it was very quiet *sad face*

I came home on Friday to see my family. I live in my university house with friends, and sometimes it's nice to come back to familiar surroundings.
I had a much needed haircut on Friday night and my hairdresser Jan decided to put me in a full head of rollers, so I'd have full big curls rather than my wavy hair I normally have - I looked interesting to say the least so that was different, and I was a little gutted I wasn't going out!

Saturday was lovely, and I spent the day having a craft with my mum.
I think I've said in another post how I love to craft and make things - yesterday was all about card making. We have a craft room in my house at home which is were my mum just fills with everything, we have boxes of papers, embellishments, stickers and so on. It's fabulous just to get lost in there for a while, with your head buzzing with ideas.

I'm off back to the university house tonight, which makes me sad but I'll be happy to see my boys (Damon and Aro, my guinea pigs!). They usually come with me everywhere but I decided to leave them there for the night.

I do have lots of posts and makeup looks coming soon so keep a look out.
I felt like doing a weekly update today so apologies if I've bored you to death!

I hope you've all had a fabulous week,

My Favourite Pairs of Shoes

Hi all,
I love shoes. They'll always love you, whether you've lost or put on weight!
There's nothing better than a beautiful pair of shoes (in my opinion) so I thought I'd show you some of my favourite pairs!

Ironfist Heels
I bought these for my 19th birthday and still haven't worn them. I'm too scared to!
They're so pretty though *sigh* so I just stare at them instead.

Hello Kitty Vans
When I saw these, I had to have them! I adore hello kitty and these are just perfect.
They are so cute and look great with a pair of black leggings.

Leopard Print
I love these shoes and I tend to wear these with everything.
They're so comfy and perfect for just slipping on to do some errands.

Ironfist Uggs
I bought these after last christmas to keep me nice and warm in the winter!
They're so comfy and I never took them off this time last year. I shall have to start wearing them more!
So there are my favourite shoes!
I hope you enjoyed this post, and if let me know if anyone else out there loves shoes!
I'd love to have a chat :)
