Rainbow Reads: What's On My Book Shelf?

Hi all,
I'm a huge lover of books, and at home I have a wardrobe dedicated!
But here at my university house, I can only bring a few at a time so that my room isn't covered in books (although that would be amazing...)
So I thought I would share with you when I have lined up to read at the moment...
So here is what I have with me at the moment.

Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins
I'm really looking forward to reading this - especially as the film is out in the summer! I've heard lots of great things about it so fingers crossed!
Shiver - Maggie Stiefvater
I went out and bought this book after watching an AllThatGlitters21 Glitterature on it.
I liked the sound of it and thought I'd give it a go.
Glass Houses - Rachel Caine
I have all these books, yet never read them - how naughty of me. I am planning of bashing out the whole series though.
Nine uses for an ex-boyfriend - Sarra Manning
Sarra Manning is one of my favourite authors and this is her new book!
My mum bought it me the day after it was released because she knows how much I love her books. Excited to get stuck in with this!

Christmas Cookie Club - Ann Pearlman
I read this over christmas and I loved it! It's such a christmassy book and really gets you into the mood. I also loved the characters and their stories.
Cupcake Cafe - Jenny Colgan
Nothing but Trouble - Rachel Gibson
Another book I've read and loved! Rachel Gibson is an amazing writer.
Dead Until Dark & Living Dead in Dallas - Charlaine Harris
The True Blood books - I'm a huge fan of the tv programme but I need to see what the books are like. My housemate reads them and likes them so I'll have to give them a go soon!
To the Moon and Back - Jill Mansell

Pretty Little Liars & Flawless - Sara Shepard
Also a tv programme. I've read the first book and I've only caught a couple of episodes and I quite liked it although it was different from the book. Looking forward to progressing more into the story!
That Gallagher Girl - Kate Thompson
I heart Vegas - Lindsey Kelk
Another of my favourite authors. I've read all books by Lindsey Kelk and this one is the new one in the I Heart... series. I really enjoyed reading this because I love the characters and couldn't wait to find out what happened to them.
Nobody's Girl - Sarra Manning
Another Sarra Manning book - I found this on eBay for 99p so had to pick it up. I thought I'd read all of her books, obviously not. Looking forward to getting into this too!
One Day - David Nicholls
Loved and cried at the film - I'm wondering if the film did the book justice! I was given this book by a friend because they couldn't get into it/it wasn't their style of book.
Confessions of a Shopaholic - Sophie Kinsella

Shopaholic Abroad
Shopaholic Ties the Knot
Shopaholic and Baby
Shaopaholic and sister
Mini Shopaholic - Sophie Kinsella
I've read a few of the Shopaholic books, my mum and nan are both big fans and I wanted to see where the story went.
How to be a woman - Caitlin Moran
This was one of my christmas presents - it's supposed to be really funny and I'm looking forward to reading it!
Cakes Day - Hummingbird Bakery (Cookbook)

I'm really looking forward to making my way through these books, and getting lost into the pages. I love reading, it's something I've done since I was little and it's a hobby that I love!

Top 5 Lip Products

Hi everyone!
I thought I'd post my Top 5 lip products! These are items that I wear regularly and what I would recommend to anyone.

Rimmel Lipstick in Latino 500

I love the colour of this, it's so fun and I think it's the perfect colour for every day wear. I usually wear this if I feel like a bit of colour on my lips but don't want say, a bright red.
The lipstick itself is soft and creamy, and gives just the right amount of product when applied.

Bourjois 3D Effet in 29
I especially love having this on my lips! It makes them look so shiny and I love the colour. The texture feel almost gritty, but not - I can't explain it but it's not unpleasant.
I know that Bourjois have lots of other colours in this range, and I'd like to purchase a few more and see what they're like!

Lancome Juicy Tubes (I have no idea what this colour is!)
Since I was about 13, I've always wanted a Juicy Tube. Not sure why, but I did. Over the christmas period I treated myself to a Juicy Tube gift set with the 4 best selling colours in.
I have to say that this one is my favourite - the colour is similar to my Bourjois 3D Effet but it's more sticky and glides over the lips nicely.
Although you need to be careful about applying too much of this or else risking getting horrid sticky lips, it is a beautiful colour and gives you lots of shine.

Barry M Lip Lacquer Crayon in No.4
This is a new product in my makeup bag, and I LOVE it.
The colour is beautiful, and I like to wear it with a plain eye to give my face that dash of colour.
These pencils are filled with glitter although you can't feel it on your lips - you'd expect it to feel gritty and nasty. This I will most definitely be repurchasing when I've run out.

Vaseline in Rosy Lips
Who doesn't love Vaseline? I especially love this one because not only does it condition my lips it adds a pretty colour too. Just enough too.
I love applying this throughout the year, because it helps with chapped lips over winter and has a SPF factor for the summer months too!
I can't imagine being without a Vaseline in it's many varieties in my bag!

Rimmel, Barry M, Bourjois, Lancome, Vaseline

Tutorial: Wearable Valentine's Look

Hi everyone,

So from my last Valentine's tutorial, I decided to post another look that is more wearable. Especially if you're going out for a meal or something.

As always, prime the eyes.
I then applied Urban Decay Virgin all over the eye.

I then added a small amount of Urban Decay Toasted to the crease, to add shadow and define.

I then added Illamasqua Berber to the bottom lid.
Make sure you pat this on to make sure you get maximum glitter!

I then added black eyeliner to the waterline and applied Avon Supershock mascara to both sets of lashes.

To make the look more dramatic, I then applied Rimmel in 500 Diva Red to the lips and a red Lancome Juicy Tube.

Hope you all have a lovely Valentine's!

Tutorial: Valentine's Eyes

February the 14th is fast approaching us, meaning that Valentine's Day will soon be here!
Whether your single, your spending the day or going out somewhere with your loved one, I thought I'd show you this Valentine's inspired look - Hope you like!

First of start by priming your eye.
Then add a white base (NYX Jumbo in Milk) all over your eye area.

I'm using my BeautyUK 6 Palette

Using an eyeshadow brush, apply pink all over your lid.

Take a small clean brush, and apply the pink/red to the outer corner.

Using the same brush, create a wing shape

Bring the colour down onto the bottom lash, about half the way flicking it towards the inner corner.

Using a clean brush, apply a white to the inner corner and on the eyebrow as highlight.
Apply black eyeliner to the top lash and white eyeliner to the bottom waterline.

Apply mascara, and some false eyelashes if you wish!

Et voilĂ ! The finished look:

I also added some Bourjois Effet 3D in 29 on the lips.

MAC Viva Glam Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin

OH. EM. GEE.
I was just browsing a couple of my favourite bloggers sites, and I saw this.
I am TOO excited right now.

Incase you didn't know, MAC have a line of cosmetics called Viva Glam, where 100% of the selling price of each item goes to their Aids Fund.
Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin have become the newest Spokespeople for the Fund, meaning they are both bringing out their own product each on the Viva Glam line.
This excites me SO much. I am a huge fan of Nicki Minaj and I would just love to have a product from her.

This lipstick looks amazing. I love satin pink colours, and I feel like I could wear this every day.
With it being Nicki too, I feel like this product has been made for me - sad, I know!
I'm maybe not so excited about the Lip Conditioner, mainly because it's not something that appeals to me. I like to use the usual Vaseline and keep it at that.

Apparently these will be released sometimes this February ... CAN I HAVE IT NOW, please?

Sorry this has been a hugely excitable post.

Mum's The Word!

Hi!
While I was home for a few days, my mum wanted me to give her a make over.
I plucked and reshaped her eyebrows and she'd just had her hair newly cut.
She says she's in an unsure stage in her life. She's unsure how to dress, what to wear, how to have her hair. She's turning 45 in June (she'll kill me for putting this on here, ha!) and she's never been one to wear makeup. Usually she had mascara and a touch of eyeliner on.

So off I worked my magic on her:
A blank canvas...
I asked her how she wanted me to do it. She said she wanted it dramatic, and just to do what I wanted without making her look like a clown (Me, Clown? Never!)

My mum has really dry skin, and she finds that when she applies foundation, it sticks to all the dead skin and hairs no matter what she uses.
I used my Simple moisturiser and let it sink in while I did her eyes which I decided to use my naked palette for, and just go for it.

And here we go, and I think it looks amazing. It makes such a difference to her.

Some of you might think she's wearing a little much makeup, others might not.
This was just a play around, and to see what she'd look like with some slap on!

Hope you like :)
